EURO 418

Survey of regional and immigrant minority language use and language policies in contemporary Europe. Focus on political and social issues, such as bilingual education, acculturation and assimilation, language loss and language maintenance in two immigrant languages, Turkish and Arabic/Berber, and four indigenous language families: Balto-Slavic with Estonian, Celtic, Romance with Basque, and Slavic with Hungarian. Taught in English. Same as GER 418, ITAL 418, LING 418, PS 418, SLAV 418, SPAN 418, and EURO 418. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours.
Euro 418 meets on Mondays 05:00PM - 06:20PM at 311 Gregory Hall.
